The Queanbeyan Whites Juniors aims to field at least one team in all age groups from Under 13s through to Under 18s.
Whilst we endeavour to field a team in each of the age groups, sometimes we don't have the numbers to do so. If we can not enter a team for a specific age group, players may be requested to play a grade up.
ALL players are eligible to trial for Representative Football.
All players are required to attend the Referees Course and are encouraged to complete the Referees Course.
All Ages: 15 on the field. 23 in a team.
Training is each Monday and Wednesday from 5.30pm at Campese Oval, Queanbeyan.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
During February, November & December, players are encouraged to attend the 2620 Junior Academy Program. The program
has been designed to develop players of the Queanbeyan Junior Rugby Union Club and had been establish in partnership with Dynamic Athletic Performance & Rehabilitation.
The 2620 Junior Academy Program is open to both males and females and participants must be aged between 15 and 18 (inclusive) to participate.
Parent volunteers are essential to a Junior Rugby Club such as the Whites. The following roles are important for each age group to run smoothly:
All coaches are required to be Smart Rugby qualified. The Club will cover associated costs with qualification. All coaches are also required to comply with Working with Children requirements. Applications for Coaching positions are sent out prior to the beginning of the Training Season.
Managers are responsible for communicating game details to parents, handling match day duties such as sign on sheets, player ID and water bottles and entering scores via the Xplorer App. All team managers are also required to comply with Working with Children requirements.
FIRST AID OFFICER
Each team is required to have a FAIR (First Aid In Rugby) qualified person for First Aid. The Club will cover associated costs with the FAIR qualification. All First Aid Officers are also required to comply with Working with Children requirements.
All teams are required to provide a ground marshal at both home and away games. The ground marshal is responsible for ensuring that spectators adhere to the code of conduct.
All teams are required to provide an assistant referee (touch judge) at both home and away games. The Club will cover associated costs for members that would like to become qualified.
Unless you are qualified, you can only make calls for the ball that has gone into touch.
